Back to School

Kraig's first day was not as traumatic as I thought it would be, for any of us, thank goodness. He actually started on Friday of the first week....they staggered the start days for the pre school, so each child went one day that week.

He did whine a little at home, but was OK all the way to school. When we got in the classroom, he went to the table to play playdough....I made the mistake of wanting to say bye, so he started crying, but he went on back to the table. I needed to speak with the teacher, so when he noticed I was still there, he got started all over again....I unfortunately was unable to get pictures the first day. But Chris took this one the second day.....

Parent Night was the Tuesday after he started....this is Kraig at parent night.

These are a couple of his pictures he's made.

And he has already been invited and attended a birthday party for a little girl in his class. It was at Pump It Up....it's an indoor bounce facility. They have rooms that have the big blow up slides and bouncers in them. He had a BLAST! The best girl's party he will likely ever go to.....

Adults can go on these bouncers too.....I did it once....and I was done. It was hard climbing up the "steps"; coming down was fun, but not really worth it to me. Kraig had to have a buddy....so Chris went with on most of his trips up. (He didn't really have to have someone go with him....that is just Kraig's vice...he is very needy, very dependent....one of the more apparent effects of Pervasive Development Disorder).

And Kraig drew this happy face on the chalkboard at church...a budding artist, perhaps?

The Memphis Zoo

A final field trip, if you will, was to the Zoo the Tuesday before school started.

He was just so tickled that he was holding the stick the birds were standing on....look at that grin!

Kraig's favorite animal......the meerkats. He has ALWAYS liked them...I don't know why, but he has.

Collierville Town Square

Collierville Town Square is full of history....lots of shops and restaurants, a fire station, a gazebo. There is often one activity or another going on.....this summer a farmer's market was started just off of Town Square, and my parents went to it a couple of times. These are some pics of Kraig at Town Square...one of his favorite things, (after fire trucks) is trains. Not at all influenced by his Papa......

This is one my favorites......he is such a little man sometimes....

And there is also a cannon to resemble civil war times set up as well.....there is a civil war trail that goes through Collierville...

And then there is Kraig being Kraig....doing what Kraig does.....

Johnson Park

Johnson Park is less than 5 minutes from our house...we visit it several times during the summer....Kraig loves it. There is a playground with sand, and a sprinkler park. There are also several ball fields and a nature walk. It's actually pretty cool. There is also a lake with a couple of fountains and a walking path around it. There are often a few people fishing, and also ducks and geese around. The pictures below are from the sprinkler park.

And one of the times we went, we saw this deer, just walking along near the street.

The Fourth of July

Anyone who has visited my blog knows I am behind...so yes, it is August, and I am posting 4th of July.....better late than never, right?

Due to the delay on my camera, and the angle at which I saw most of the fireworks I didn't get many good pictures....

The best part of our fireworks display is we didn't have to leave our house. The fireworks in Collierville are done from the park at the opposite end of our street. So, we just walked outside, and sat/stood in our driveway. We did have to move around some trees to improve the view, but otherwise it was great. And we didn't have to fight crowds or traffic when it was over.
